At our Dartford yard EE Olley stock a wide range of railway sleepers both reclaimed and new softwood and hardwood.

The popular hardwood reclaimed sleepers are recovered from Europe and are usually creosote coated oak making them heavy, strong and durable. These characteristics are ideal for retaining walls, aggregate bays and landscaping although frequent skin contact should be avoided.

A more economic reclaimed sleeper is the softwood version which provides similar end use solutions but is less durable and tends to be more distressed than the hardwood version.

New pressure impregnated softwood sleepers are available in GREEN or BROWN in standard lengths of 2400mm but other lengths are available cut to order usually within 7-10 days.

An increasingly popular selection of sleepers is the new European OAK timbers available in mainly two section sizes 100x200mm and 125x250mm. The quality of our sleepers is defined unlike others on the market with restriction on the level of wane and sapwood allowed resulting in an attractive landscape product. They are even used for the manufacture of rustic furniture such as benches and tables etc.

All the sleepers EE Olley supply are responsibly sourced and covered under FSC Reclaimed, FSC 100%, FSC Mix 70% or 100% PEFC certified or 70% PEFC Certified status.
